Personal:

Have been active my whole life, but turned my focus to running in 2006 after deciding to run a marathon.  I really enjoy the training aspect and staying healthy, but mileage has been on the decline over the past 3 years due to work commitments, so focus has turned away from races and more on just staying fit enough to still enjoy getting out.  Moved from Utah to Texas in October 2016 with my wife and 3 month old babe.

Went to Round Valley for some hilly singletrack.  My hip flexors & hips were pretty sore so I just put it in cruise control and enjoyed the absolutely perfect weather....37 degrees and bluebird skies with no wind.: )  Some of the north facing trails were pretty muddy so ended up doin all kinds of weird little loops.  Great day to be out!

Tried to keep things up tempo and ended up pushing a bit hard in the beginning so  consequentially turned into a harder run than I wanted.

I steched my leg out a bunch last night.  I felt good thismorning, so did some strength then headed out on the big farm rd loop.  My groin was a little agitated when I finished, but nothing like the other day.  Will keep an eye on it.

I got a massage yesterday and the girl said my hamstrings and calves were super tight.  she recommended an epsom salt bath, which I haven't got around to yet, so I decided just to chill out today.

I took today off since it's my mom's last day in town.  I headed out the door around 8AM to a sunny, frigid 9 degrees.  Didn't feel too bad sine I did some strength before to warm me up.  Went up the dinner time loop and thru the neighborhood.  Kept the pace upbeat.

I think just pushing the pace too hard, too quick over the past 3 weeks and not stretching enough has really aggravated my psoas, adductor longus and/or gracilis.  Not really sure which one is the culprit, but all the research I've done points to these muscle groups.  Takin it easy this week with some light stretching, then add in some light resistance after that.  Gonna play my runs by how my body feels.  Today was biking.
