Personal:

Have been active my whole life, but turned my focus to running in 2006 after deciding to run a marathon.  I really enjoy the training aspect and staying healthy, but mileage has been on the decline over the past 3 years due to work commitments, so focus has turned away from races and more on just staying fit enough to still enjoy getting out.  Moved from Utah to Texas in October 2016 with my wife and 3 month old babe.

Did some planks, side-planks, and bird-dog before stting out on our adventure today.  Biked from downtown to Pacific Beach and around Mission Bay.  Then to Fiesta Island and back downtown.  About a 30+ mile ride, but we did a lot of stopping and weren't really pushing the pace.  Just enjoying the cool breeze.  :)

Very late night last night out on the town.  Took a super chill ride around Balboa park.  Beautiful old buildings and lots of plant life we don't see in Utah.

3 days without running was starting to wear on me, so set my alarm to make sure I got a run in before our flight.  Ran thru downtown, and then the boardwalk before heading back up to the hotel.  A nice mist was coming off the ocean, which kept me cool.  Avg. 7:17 per mile.

This morning was a mess trying to pick up Griffin from the kennel and then getting settled back into work.  The weather was real crappy during the day too, so decided to run late tonight.

It's nice to be running in the mountains again.  I do love the scenery.  Avg. 7:26 per mile.

Nice interval session today.  I was a little worried after slackin earlier this week, so tried to start conservatively, but felt good, so just let'r rip!  After warm-up, did 8 x 4:00 with 2:00 rest.  Pace per mile splits were 6:13(slight downhill), 6:12(slight downhill), 6:23(slight uphill), 6:21(Uphill & flat), 6:11(slight downhill), 6:16(flat), 6:27(slight uphill....feelin lazy), 6:10(slight dowhill).  Did 2 sets of butt-kicks, high-knees, bounding, & stiff leg running during my cooldown.  Then did 30 push-ups, 30 dips, and a bunch of core once I got home.

Felt a little busted up form yesterday, so took the first 2 miles really slowly, about 8:00 pace, then went to regular base speed, about 7:20 pace, for the remainder.

Going to run the Dirty Dash today with my wife's freinds husbands team, who were not "in it to win it", so decided to a run on my own.  I felt a little beat today, so am going to take tomorrow off.  Avg. 7:21 for 6.03 miles.

 11 AM  1:10?

Didn't wear a watch as this was just for fun....and it was!  Supr muddy trail sections and lots of obstacles, like hay bails, climbing walls, slip and slides.  It was a good time!  I'm gonna trust the race directors distance calculation and put it up as a 10k.
